The GRAND is a not-for-profit organization that founded Calgary’s Culture House for multidisciplinary live art at The GRAND. Since 2006, the theatre has become a centre for the presentation and support of contemporary performance from Calgary, Canada, and around the world. Vision The GRAND is a space to think collectively and to activate the individual as a participant in a vibrant society, where the artist and the spectator converge to bring the theatre to life and make apparent its diversity, vitality and necessity. Mission The GRAND is a crossroads for the exchange of art and ideas. We are “the culture house” where people, art forms, and ideas converge to cultivate a sustainable and meaningful cultural landscape in the city of Calgary. Mandate The GRAND presents local, national, and international creation-based artists in theatre, dance, music and new forms, providing a Canadian contextfor contemporary live art.
