The Shift Project is an innovative entity, an interface between businesses, the academic world, civil society, and public and institutional authorities. Comprising a multidisciplinary team and a network of experts, this independent structure assembles and debates proposals accompanied by initiatives or measures that focus on managing the transition to a post-carbon world. In practice, these proposals stem from economic and scientific research or summary reports on the issues surrounding the climate and energy, using a concrete and pragmatic approach that puts the laws of physics above human desires. The very nature of our objective obliges us to adopt an unequivocal stance with no compromising on scientific findings. The think tank’s role is primarily to spearhead proposals targeting economic and institutional decision-makers, helping them pool solutions, develop tools, identify necessary breaks with tradition and indicate ways of embracing new development models.
