The Summit School is an esteemed institution that caters to the educational needs of over 275 students in grades 3-12. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, including all five boroughs of New York City, Nassau County, Suffolk County, and Westchester County. These students are diagnosed with specific learning disabilities and/or emotional challenges and require a unique approach to education. At The Summit School, we are committed to providing our students with a flexible, holistic approach to education. Our integrated learning and therapeutic approaches enable us to meet the needs of our students better, and we believe that every student deserves a place where they can develop their individual strengths and talents. Our individualized programs are designed to cater to the specific needs of each student. We recognize that our students are mostly at or near grade level in their academics but are uneven in their abilities. Therefore, our small class sizes and individualized programs ensure that each student receives the attention they need to excel. We take pride in our outstanding reputation in the field of special education. Our students benefit from our warm, friendly, and conducive learning environment, which promotes individual growth. At Summit, we prioritize the development of a positive sense of accomplishment and self-worth in our students. Since 1968, we have been dedicated to giving children with learning and adjustment challenges the attention they need to develop their strengths and talents. We remain committed to providing the best education possible, preparing our students for success in higher education, their careers, and interpersonal relationships.
