The British Student Doctor Journal (BSDJ) is the only peer-reviewed and open-access international journal uniquely managed by medical students and resident doctors. As the official journal of the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME), it is primarily aimed at a readership of medical students and resident doctors in the UK. The journal operates under an ‘as-and-when’ publishing model, with an annual single issue spanning from the 1st January to 31st December. All of our content is fully open access, available without subscription and with no authorship charges. All articles published in the BSDJ go through a rigorous peer-review process, led by our student editorial team. The governance of the journal is overseen by our faculty advisory board, and the journal is funded by Cardiff University School of Medicine and AoME. Sections include Original Research, Life (Discussion Starters, Reflections, Education) and Correspondence.
