Tigerair Taiwan is the first and only Taiwan-based low-cost carrier (LCC) based at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. It was formed as a joint venture between China Airlines Group and Tiger Airways Holdings. China Airlines Group holds 90 percent of the share while Tiger Airways Holdings holds 10 percent. Yet, Tigerair Taiwan is now fully owned branch of China Airlines since China Airlines has bought back the 10 percent share from Tiger Airways. Tigerair Taiwan received its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aeronautics Administration (ROC) in September 2014. The airline commenced operations on 26 September 2014. To date, it has 11 Airbus A320 aircraft operating to 20 destinations, 27 routes, in Macau, North East Asia and South East Asia out of Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung in Taiwan with more than 6.5 million passengers. Tigerair Taiwan has one of the youngest fleets of aircraft in the region with an average fleet age of 3.1 years. As the first and only LCC in Taiwan, Tigerair Taiwan's cooperate culture is "warm, passionate, genuine". We commit to the pursuit of roaring excellence. We put "safety first" as our core value and we never compromise on safety. Our logo depicts our brand personality in a clean and contemporary manner. The rounded fonts depict friendliness and the different coloured dots above the letter "I", a friendly wink, while the orange semi-circle acts as a subtle reference to a tiger's tail, as well as a smile, representative of the passion and commitment in everything we do. Tigerair Taiwan is always curious and passionate about learning more about our world, thus, we welcome all passengers keeping the spirit as an explorer while flying with us. "Welcome on board!".
