Tumaini, translated "hope" in Swahili, is a home for Kenyan orphans, founded in 2003 by social entrepreneur Eunice Kariuki of Denver. Tumaini is a loving Kenyan home, not an institution, for over 50 orphaned children and babies. There are more than 2.5 million orphans in Kenya, from newborn to age 18, who are the tragic legacy of the AIDS pandemic, drought, tribal warfare, disease and starvation. Tumaini, surrounded by a lovely 50-acre farm, provides food, milk and a home of hope for its children.
