Established in 1973 and founded through the cooperation of the Hong Kong Christian Council and the Alice Ho Mil Ling Nethersole Hospital, United Christian Hospital is an acute general hospital that provides a wide range of services including in-patient, day-patient, out-patient and community care services to the population of East Kowloon. UCH is also a teaching hospital for nursing degree students of The Nethersole School of Nursing of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and other universities, as well as the medical students and students of allied health professions of universities in Hong Kong. We emphasise community oriented services and community partnership promoting the concept of "hospital without walls”. Major programs include our community nursing service and volunteer service, which were pioneered in the hospital in the early '70s.
