Vereinigte Bühnen Wien stages top-class opera and musical productions at the highest international level in its four historic venues - Raimund Theater, Ronacher, Theater an der Wien and Kammeroper - and thus makes a significant contribution to the cultural diversity of the city of Vienna. Every year, up to 600,000 people attend performances in the four theaters. This makes the VBW one of the largest multi-sector theater companies in Europe and a significant tourism factor for the city. Around 800 people are employed directly by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, a third of whom work in the artistic field. Indirectly, VBW secures more than 2,000 jobs. This makes VBW one of the most important employers in Vienna's cultural landscape. Since 1996, VBW has also marketed its own musical productions internationally and attracts around 1 million visitors worldwide every year. Currently, over 30 million visitors in 24 countries and 18 languages have seen one of VBW's ten in-house productions. The VBW thus makes a valuable contribution to the export of Austrian cultural assets abroad and plays a key role in establishing Vienna as a cultural capital.
