Village HopeCore International (HopeCore) is an innovative 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Kenya. HopeCore's mission is to promote sustainable livelihoods and family health in underserved Africa through capacity building, microfinancing, and access to preventive and affordable healthcare. Through microloans, clinical health services, and health education interventions in our Micro Enterprise and Public Health Programs, HopeCore has empowered and improved people's health in Tharaka Nithi County, Kenya. HopeCore uses the three-legged African stool approach to poverty reduction: economic empowerment, capacity building, and health interventions. This approach aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Vision 2030, and Agenda 4 of the Kenya Government. HopeCore runs two integrated programs: Micro Enterprise and Public Health. The Public Health program includes a comprehensive school health program, a community-based maternal and child health program, and an extensive Community Health Promoter (CHP) program. HopeCore also has more specific interventions integrated into these umbrella programs, including a vision project, a water, sanitation, and hygiene project in the schools, a hypertension project, and a malaria prevention project. HopeCore's programs are deeply interwoven into community life, and demand for our services and products increases yearly. HopeCore works with various development partners and government ministries to ensure work is consistent and that the interventions are sustainable. HopeCore is cost-conscious and regularly reviews expenditures to ensure the efficient use of funds, thus maximizing the impact and benefits to our beneficiaries.
