Directed by the Provincial Ministry of Education in Sichuan，Xihua University (XHU) provides a comprehensive education to put theory into practice by building a solid foundation in economics,management, science, engineering, liberal arts, fine arts and sports, further deepening educational reforms to improve educational quality and the training of exceptional individuals, and fostering a campus culture of a truly intellectual environment. History ● Founded as Sichuan Institute of Agricutural Machinery in 1960 ● Renamed as Sichuan Institute of Technology in 1983 ● First merger with Chengdu Teachers' College in 2003 and officially renamed to Xihua University ● Second merger with Sichuan Economic Management Institute in 2008
