Zambia Air Force (ZAF)

The Zambia Air Force (ZAF) was created under Section 4 of the Defence Act, Chapter 106 of the Laws of Zambia, as the Air Operations element of the Zambia Defence Force. The Zambia Air Force, distinctly, therefore is the mainstay of our country’s air power as it defends and safeguards the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Zambia against all air threats, thereby denying the enemy to attack our Vulnerable Areas (VAs) and Vulnerable Points (VPs). The Zambia Air Force further renders support to the Land Forces in defence of our country in consistency with our maxim “DEFEND AND SUPPORT”. MISSION STATEMENT “To continuously strive to be skilful in the execution of tasks, missions and responsibilities in meeting our nation’s expectations as we stand to both defend the Zambian airspace and provide support to the Government.” VISION STATEMENT “A modernised combat capable Air Force anchored on professional, accountable and well motivated personnel.”
